Why choose this particular program?
In most summer programs, students only get to spend time with other international students. In partnership with other like-minded organizations we are excited to offer you a real Canadian summer experience where you get to participate in the activities that local Canadian youths do during the summer, with the local Canadian youths!

How long would it last?
You may come for 2 weeks or more, up to 8 weeks. It is in July and August.

What is the weather in Vancouver like in July and August?
It is great! It is in fact the best weather of the year in Vancouver! The sun doesn’t go down until around 10pm, and it is not too hot and not too cold! It doesn’t normally rain either and is not humid.

What do we need to prepare before coming?
Depending on which weeks you are coming, there might be some special
things to prepare. (e.g. if you are coming for the week where there is
a kayaking trip we need further medical form and also some clothing
you should bring.) You may also need to get a Visa, depending on your country. We will be sending all participants a preparation and welcome package before arrival.

What do I need to pack if I’m coming during the weeks of the camping and hiking/sailing/kayaking trips?
You need to bring your own (waterproof) clothing and hiking boots (we will send you the specific list of things to pack depending on what weeks you are coming). Tents, backpacks, cooking gears, first aid kit, water shoes, and sleeping bags are provided.

Do I need to be very fit to participate in the camping/hiking/sailing/kayaking trips?
Students of all abilities have been able to successfully complete the trips. You would need your doctor to sign a medical form before coming and make sure you have a positive attitude to do your best to complete the trips.

Are the trips safe?
Yes, though there are some risks involved as always. However, the perceived risk is much higher than the actual risk. Staff are well trained, certified in CPR & first aid, and are experienced with the specific routes.

What is your cancellation and refund policy?
The registration fee is non-refundable.
Refund policy of Program fee due to any circumstances, whether foreseeable or unforeseeable:
If you are no longer able to participate due to medical reasons, you may cancel up to 1 week before program start date with a note from a doctor. If you are no longer able to participate due to any other reasons, payment is 100% refundable* at least 60 days prior to program start date. Between 30-60 days prior to program start date, payment (including deposit) is 50% refundable*. Payment is non-refundable less than 30 days prior to program start date.
*less admin fee of $100 and bank charges (vary depending on country and method of transfer.)

Do I need a visa or Study Permit or Visa and if yes what is the processing time?
As the duration of the program is less than six months, you don’t need a study permit. However, you may need a visa to come to Canada depending where you are coming from (you can find out here whether you need a visa). Everyone must have a valid passport at least 6 months before expiry date. You are responsible for getting your own travel documents. If you need a visa you can find out about processing time for your country here

Do you have scholarships available?
Yes! This year we are offering 2 scholarships for each school – 1 for a student with financial need and another for the best overall student. Each scholarship is worth $500. The scholarships might only be valid for certain weeks and activity choices. Each scholarship winner must do a write-up about his/her experience which will be published at his/her school and on our publications. Please contact your school for more info on how to apply.

Do you have any discounts or offers available?
Yes! We have a Bring a friend discount
When you bring a friend to join the program on the same weeks, both of you get 5% off your program fee, up toa maximum of $250! So the more weeks you come for the more you and your friends can save!
